I began writing poetry in 13, but my power for words multiplied after I read Maya Angelou's "I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings" at 16. I established my own personal relationship with words, I, the master. Poetry.. I used it to get through heartbreaks, crushes, depression, and feelings of isolation. Words were my therapy.
When I met Jacovia , it was two planets colliding, and he captured me. He would sit and play the piano and sing. The way he spoke music, was something I had never encountered. We wrote our first song, the night we met and we have been together ever since.
Since the formalization of our Production Company, Playwidease, I have worked with graphic arts, web development,consulting, and the various other exciting tasks in the music business.
I have studied natural healing for the past 17 years. I began my conquest of enlightenment in 2003, after my only brother was sent to Iraq. It served as a wake up call to a bigger world and the crimes of humanity that continue to exist.
Our songs are surrounded by themes of love, peace, unity, compassion... and Hope.
I'm a tiger/tiger for chinese astrology which makes things even clearer.
I am co-lead and dance in Sonada Malay, the soulful duo conquering eLectRonIC sOUL. Being in the studio is magic to me. Being able to translate Jacovia's music into song is a blessing, as the Universe pours through me.
For me, our music is a prayer for love, compassion, hope, peace, and unity.
Jacovia is my Yin. His music is the vessel in which I speak.....
